In the midst of the Great War, Georges Ribemont-Dessaignes, while writing the play 'L'Empereur de chine' a piece known for its 'premeditated aggression', was working at a desk job informing families of the death of their family members in battle.

Invented by Baron Karl Drais in the early 19th century, this was reputedly the first two wheeled, human powered vehicle, or velocipede.
